An Art Journal Adventure
A couple weeks ago the ever amazing Vanessa shared some pages where she challenged herself to only use her journal, a magazine, scissors, glue and a marker. Her pages were so fantastic and I loved the idea of trying to create with less. Last week I gave it a go on a few pages and really liked how most of my pages turned out. My magazine selection was interesting as I don’t have a single fashion/editorial one in my whole house! These images were mostly harvested from an old Chatelaine that I apparently felt like hanging on to.
Sometimes less is more, y’know? In this case, it made everything have more impact as a finished page. Which was outside of my usual approach. Anyhow, here are a few pages I put together.
What a fun & stretching exercise this was! It definitely pushed me to really look at images and contemplate how they would appear standing alone.
Since I’m away this week on vacation with my family, this is my Thursday post as a commitment to share with other Get Messians. If you want to see my current work, I’m always posting on Instagram (no matter where I am!)
And as always, please check out Get Messy Art Journal to see what this art journey is all about and to see some amazing work by others!
