A Tiny Series // Tiny Art Journal #11

I can’t believe I’m nearly done this year-long challenge! It’s been so much fun making all these teeny tiny art journals. The very best part has been sharing this journey on here with you!

If you’ve been following me this year, you’ll notice that I’m missing a few in between the last journal and this one. They’re all about 50% done right now – I promise they’ll get shared! They just need to be completed first, haha.

This tiny art journal went super fast! I was actually super inspired by the How She Creates podcast episode that had Lauren Caterson and Katie Licht on, talking about collage. I love collage, but for whatever reason never seem to consider it in my journals too much. After listening to their episode, I was inspired to do a whole tiny journal with just collage. I added some extra drawing and writing, but it’s 90% collage. It came together really fast compared to my other journals and that was extremely satisfying! I used mostly extra gelli plate prints I had been hoarding for a while and I am in love with how much texture they give this tiny thing!

The journal itself is only 2.5″ x 2.75″ [6.5 cm x 7 cm] and made from chipboard. I liked using something stiffer for the pages, as well as the loose binding on this instead of a typical folded/stapled method.

SO without too much more, here is tiny art journal #11…

I love your tiny journals – do you make them yourself or buy them somewhere? I have been looking for tiny sketchbooks/journals and can’t seem to find them.

Thank you – love your work!
